Add to this the cost of yearly vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and medical care when needed and the end result is that of abandonment: this years very cute and cuddly playful kitten is next years abandoned mum with a litter of kittens of her own. The cycle then continues on with her own kittens quickly coming to maturity and birthing kittens of their own or, in the case of the males, fathering more litters.
